The AI Playbook: Built for Big Leaguers, Not Benchwarmers

So I’m sitting here last night watching my Fightin’s while tinkering away with my other, more recent pastime—making lamps.
Coincidentally, in this case, I’m making them out of empty Philadelphia Phillies collector’s edition Bud Light bottles (if the day thing doesn’t work out, I’ve got a backup plan).
Anyway, all this baseball—and that terrible third strike call on J.T. Realmuto—has me thinking—hmm, “intelligence,” huh?
Business can be thought of like baseball.
Everyone’s got a position. Everyone has a role to play. And if you’re not keeping up, you’re slowing the whole team down.
Right now, AI tools are changing the game across every department in your casino. Writing, sales, strategy, legal, creative, research, video—you name it. The floodgates are open, and suddenly, there’s a tool for everything.
But here’s the truth: you don’t need to know every tool—you just need to know which ones help you do your job better.
Learn your position. Master your zone. Communicate clearly. Execute with confidence.
That’s how we win.
“You can’t win today’s game with yesterday’s home run.” – Babe Ruth
What Little League Taught Me About AI Tools
When I was seven, I played for a scrappy little team coached by a guy named Coach Fetters. He taught us how to field grounders, how to back up first base, and—somewhat awkwardly—what a protective cup was for. (Thanks for that, Coach.)
But more importantly, he drilled into us a simple, timeless truth:
“Start with the fundamentals. Then build from there.”
That advice hasn’t just stuck with me. It built me.
It’s why I’m relentless about things like creative briefs. Why I push teams—especially in fast-paced environments like casino marketing—to clearly communicate. Why I believe in understanding the job before rushing to do the job.
Because AI tools don’t win games. Teams do.
What’s on the Roster? (The Best AI Tools by Position)
So, which AI tools are used in marketing? If you want to play in the big leagues, then these tools are the starting lineup for your casino's team. You’re not expected to use them all—but you are expected to know which ones are suited for your role. Learn them. Use them. Share what you learn.
Here’s our all-star roster:
1B – ChatGPT (OpenAI)
The everyday workhorse. Creative writing, ideation, emails, research, light coding—it can help just about anyone do their job faster and better. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re a casino marketing pro in the on-deck circle with no helmet.
2B – Claude (Anthropic)
The reliable middle infielder. Great for summarizing long documents, legal briefs, and research-heavy reads. If ChatGPT gets overwhelmed, Claude keeps its head down and turns two.
SS – Jasper
Fast, focused, and optimized for marketers. Jasper handles brand-specific copy, content calendars, product pages, and ads. Great for casino creative teams who want more control over tone and voice.
3B – Copy.ai
Built for outbound sales and marketing teams. It shines in cold outreach, email campaigns, and social content. Gets the ball out fast and across the diamond.
LF – Descript
Video and audio editing made easy. Transcribe, edit, dub, even clone your voice. If you’re making podcasts, content reels, or interviews, this one belongs in left field with a cannon arm.
CF – Runway ML
Your flashiest tool. Remove video backgrounds, animate stills, generate clips. It’s like having a whole post-production team in your pocket.
RF – Gamma
This one turns bullet points into beautiful presentations. Think pitch decks, recaps, case studies. For casino markers who dread PowerPoint but still need to knock it out of the park.
C – Scribe
Quietly essential. Scribe watches what you do, step by step, and turns it into a clean, sharable how-to doc. Ideal for training, onboarding, or just getting your process out of your head.
DH – Tome
Tome helps you create interactive microsites or landing pages just by describing what you want. No coding. No stress. Just smart design in a few clicks.
Pitcher – Harvey
The AI legal assistant. Contract review, document drafting, and legal research—all handled fast and accurately. Brings the heat when it matters most.
Note from the Dugout:
I haven’t personally used every one of these AI marketing tools—yet. My own time at bat so far has been with platforms like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Google NotebookLM, ElevenLabs, and DALL·E. The rest are on deck because I’ve seen how they’re transforming work across industries. The point isn’t to be an expert in everything—it’s to get curious, start swinging, and find the tools that help you deliver for your role.
Stop Watching from the Dugout
If you're still saying “I haven’t really tried ChatGPT,” I’ve got news for you—you’re already behind in the count.
This isn’t a fad. It’s a shift.
AI isn’t going to do your job for you. But it will make the person who learns how to use it ten times faster than the person who doesn’t. And in our business, speed plus strategy equals results.
You’ve got free tutorials, blog posts, and step-by-step videos at your fingertips. You can literally learn this stuff from your couch.
No excuses.
Train It Like You Train a Rookie
Remember all those years I harped on creative briefs?
Yeah—turns out I was prepping you for this moment.
AI marketing tools need direction. They need clarity. The same way a junior designer or freelancer does. You have to brief it properly if you want good output.
Tone of voice. Target audience. Desired outcome. Required elements. What to avoid. You feed it the right setup, it’ll swing for the fences.
And here’s the kicker: AI won’t fill in the blanks for you.
If you’re lazy or vague, you’ll get lazy, vague results.
But if you’ve ever worked with a good strategist, a great writer, or a sharp designer, then guess what? You already know what this takes.
This is applied intelligence—now paired with artificial.
Bottom Line from the Bench
2025 is the AI gold rush. It’s the year companies, teams, and individuals either step up—or sit out.
The tools are here to help us:
- See the past (trends, reports, data)
- Manage the present (automation, task management)
- Predict the future (strategy, projections, planning)
But none of that matters if we don’t step into the box and take a swing.
So learn your tools. Know your position. Practice your fundamentals.
Coach Fetters would be proud.
And hey—anyone wanna buy a lamp?
