Meet Kristen
“At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished…it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back.” – Denzel Washington
Meet Kristen. She is the Director of Marketing at Marketing Results. She handles account services and runs on endorphins. Positive endorphins, that is.
“I do my best to have a positive attitude as much as I can, so if a day or a project is stressful or something goes wrong, I don’t automatically go to the negative. I try to find the positives of situations and focus on not being a “Debbie Downer”, because I know how our attitudes affect one another,” said Kristen. “I like working together with others and feel like having a team mentality helps - whether it be brainstorming with co-workers or with other departments as well as working together with clients.”
Kristen feeds and finds this positive attitude in and out of the office. She currently volunteers with several organizations: Junior League of Las Vegas, Girls on the Run, Global Gaming Women. Kristen is also a runner and avid peloton rider. She finds her feel-good-attitude by creating endorphins by working out and helping others.
“Volunteering gives me a sense of community - we are all in this life together so why not help others who may need it? Same with my running group community - we run together and lift each other up. It's all about relationships.”
Kristen also helps others at work. Whether it is mentoring new employees or strategizing with clients–her objective is to do good. “Marketing is hard work. That’s why our casino clients need help with strategies and execution of casino player loyalty programs–digitally or through the mail. When we see results from our work with casino clients–that gives me the feels too. Their win is our win.”
“I like working directly with clients and developing real relationships. The clients we work with are all over the country and are in different size properties and markets – I like gaining insight into each. It’s the same industry, but every property and market is so different which makes it fun.”
Kristen also finds fun in challenging herself. Pushing herself and accomplishing her goals and her organizations’ goals. “When it comes to volunteer work, I’ve definitely developed leadership skills, delegation, communication/public speaking, organization, and networking which all ultimately help me at work.”
“Having a leadership role in these organizations puts me out of my comfort zone sometimes but those skills translate at work–they empower me to show up confident and positive for our clients.”
